My experience with helping others.
As well as being a Wellbeing Coach, I work for Dorset Mind facilitating a Wellbeing Group. The group's focus is to educate people about common mental health issues such as stress, anxiety, and depression, how to spot the signs and symptoms as well as finding helpful ways of coping and improving them. The Group shares their challenges and experiences, along with exploring topics such as managing our mental health, negative thinking, and looking at the Five Ways to Wellbeing.
I also work as an Active Monitoring Practitioner for Bournemouth Surgery via Dorset Mind. This involves 1-2-1 sessions with people that have mild to moderate mental health problems and wellbeing concerns. The sessions offer guided self help using the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy working with a number of pathways such as Anxiety, Depression, Menopause, Stress, Self Esteem, Grief & Loss, Anger and Loneliness. The service is goal focused and takes you through a journey of self support. Due to my own lived experience with mental health I can relate and empathise with people on a deeper level.
